7.1. Helpspot MCP Overview
Updated: Jun 9 2026, 02:32 PM
HelpSpot MCP connects your existing AI agents, such as Claude or ChatGPT, directly to HelpSpot. Through natural conversation, your agent can work with requests and knowledge bases on your behalf: looking up information, making updates, generating reports, and more.
What You Can Do
Manage Requests
Find, review, prioritize, and update support requests. Ask your agent to surface what needs attention, pull up ticket details, add notes, change status, or close items out.
Report and Analyze
Generate summaries and breakdowns from your HelpSpot data, such as request volume, common customers, or category trends. Your agent can aggregate the data and produce visualizations to help you understand it.
Work With Knowledge Bases
Search your knowledge base for information and update articles and content as needed.
Connect HelpSpot to the Rest of Your Business
Because it is an MCP tool, HelpSpot MCP isn't limited to HelpSpot on its own. Your agent can combine HelpSpot with the other systems and data sources it has access to, letting you weave your support processes into the wider context of your business, for example pulling HelpSpot data alongside other business data, or driving HelpSpot actions from information that lives elsewhere.
Built-In Safeguards
You can configure your agent to ask for confirmation before making any change in HelpSpot, whether updating a request or editing a knowledge base article, so you always stay in control.
You can also turn individual MCP tools on or off in the HelpSpot admin, giving you control over exactly which actions are available.
