1.1. HelpSpot 5.8.3
Updated: Jul 16 2026, 02:53 PM
Release Date: July 16th 2026
Improvements
- Refined System Health alerts: Following the introduction of System Health in 5.8.2, the “system health needs attention” login banner and the overall CRITICAL status are now reserved for genuine outages or imminent data loss. Conditions that are transient or degraded-but-still-running — such as recent failed jobs, rejected emails, a busy queue, or a search index that is still rebuilding — now appear as warnings on the System Health page without triggering the login banner. Failed-job counts are also now measured over the last 24 hours rather than for all time, so a healthy instance no longer raises an alarm based on historical failures.
Bug Fixes
- More resilient outbound email under rate limits: When a mail relay rate-limited or capped connections, for example during a large satisfaction-survey batch, a single throttled message could stall unrelated outbound mail and cause messages to fail permanently. Outbound sending now throttles only the affected message, retries over a longer window, paces large batches, and records the underlying mail-server error so failures are visible. Healthy, high-volume senders are not affected.
- Filters and automation rules with hyphenated search terms: A filter or automation rule searching for a phrase that contained a hyphenated word (such as “virus-infected”) could fail with a database error on large installations, causing the affected automation rule to fail on every run. These searches now run correctly.
