5.6. Windows Virus Scanning Recommendations

When running HelpSpot on Windows OS, there are performance implications to consider regarding the use of antivirus software. In particular, HelpSpot installation and upgrade operations can be significantly impacted by actively running antivirus software.

It is recommended to temporarily disable antivirus software (or at least any "active scanning" components) during HelpSpot installation or upgrades. Additionally, depending upon available system resources and configuration, HelpSpot instances may experience performance improvements by excluding specific paths from antivirus active scanning. The paths below are relative to the HelpSpot installation directory.
